On September 9, 2008, a son, a brother, a cousin, and a friend died fighting for us, for our families, for our country. Now we, his family and friends, have started a non-profit organization to continue the legacy Nicholas Aaron Madrazo started to serve military families, our country, and our soldiers in honor of him.
Nic wanted to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps to hopefully make a difference in the lives of the people of Afghanistan. Nic volunteered to be part of an embedded training team who would serve alongside Afghan soldiers training them to fight in the war on terrorism. He was enthusiastic about reaching out to the local villagers, especially the children of Afghanistan, so they might have an opportunity for freedom and education.
Nic was only 25 years old when his life ended, but with your help, his life will be remembered for years to come, and more importantly, you can do your part in supporting troops who serve in our military and the family members who are waiting for their return.
In doing these things, the foundation hopes to increase public awareness of the current operations the military is engaged in and to fully support those who we hope, in turn, will support the NAMES Foundation mission and begin a mission of their own.
On September 9, 2008, we were brought into a chain reaction. NAMES was established to continue a reaction.
