Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends
The NAMES Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to honoring the life and memory of 1stLt Nicholas Aaron Madrazo, USMC. A roadside bomb killed him along with Capt Jessie Melton (USMC), HM3 Eichmann Strickland (a medic), and an Afghan interpreter on September 9, 2008, in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. His life ended that day, but Nicholas' influence on so many people has inspired the NAMES Foundation's beginning.
The Vision of the NAMES Foundation is to honor the life of USMC 1stLt Nicholas Aaron Madrazo and all other men and women of the United States Military. Besides, NAMES maintains situational awareness of current affairs on behalf of everyone in the United States and beyond.
Our Mission is two-fold:
The NAMES Foundation charitable giving for 2018 is as follows:
NAMES helps cover expenses for disabled Veterans who travel to complete training to build skills and relationships with service dogs. These courses help veterans recover from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and are completed through the non-profit organization known as Paws for Purple Hearts.
NAMES assists in covering expenses for disabled Veterans to heal through the teaching of fly fishing skills in the wilderness. This life-changing experience renews the sense of purpose and peacefulness for disabled Veterans. Project Healing Waters selects the disabled Veterans and NAMES covers equipment costs through the local fly fishing shop Worley Bugger Fly Co.
3) US VETS
NAMES assists in covering expenses for homeless Veterans to travel back home following completion of a training program through US VETS.
