Nicholas Aaron Madrazo Endearing Service (NAMES)
The NAMES Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to honoring the life and memory of 1stLt Nicholas Aaron Madrazo, USMC. He was killed by a roadside bomb along with Capt Jessie Melton (USMC), HM3 Eichmann Strickland (a medic), and an Afghan interpreter on Sept. 9, 2008 in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. His life ended that day but the influence Nicholas had on so many people has inspired the NAMES Foundation's beginning.
The Vision of the NAMES Foundation is to honor the life of USMC 1stLt Nicholas Aaron Madrazo and all other men and women of the United States Military. In addition, NAMES maintains situational awareness of current affairs on behalf of everyone in the United States and beyond.
Our Mission is two-fold:
1) To provide moral and material support vital to protecting military personnel currently in harm's way as well as helping to heal those who return home with wounds.
2) To support active duty personnel, Veterans, and their families killed or injured in action that have served honorably in any branch of the US military.
DONATE: HELP SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
The NAMES Foundation charitable giving for 2017 is as follows:
1) Paws for Purple Hearts:
NAMES assists in covering expenses for disabled Veterans who travel to complete training to build skills and relationships with service dogs. These courses help Veterans to recover from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and are completed through the non-profit organization known as Paws for Purple Hearts.
2) Project Healing Waters:
NAMES assists in covering expenses for disabled Veterans to heal through the teaching of fly fishing skills in the wilderness. This life changing experience renews the sense of purpose and peacefulness for disabled Veterans. Project Healing Waters selects the disabled Veterans and NAMES covers equipment costs through the local fly fishing shop Worley Bugger Fly Co. NAMES is honored to serve in these partnerships!
The next 5K/10K is currently planned for 2017. There will be NO 5K/10K in September of 2016. Thank you for your continued support!
